How to get there

Get Directions from Google Maps

From the North

Take the tollway I-294 South towards Indiana. Take I-55 South towards St. Louis. Take the exit South Cass Ave, Exit # 273A, and make a right turn onto Northgate Road at the Argonne sign. Just before the entering the Main Gate, turn right and proceed to the Theory & Computer Science (TCS) Building #240.

From the South

Take the I-55 North towards Chicago. Take the exit South Cass Ave, Exit # 273A, and make a right turn onto Northgate Road at the Argonne sign. Just before the entering the Main Gate, turn right and proceed to the Theory & Computer Science (TCS) Building #240.

From the West

Take the tollway I-88  East towards Chicago. Take I-355 South towards Joliet. Take I-55 North towards Chicago. Take the exit South Cass Ave, Exit # 273A, and make a right turn onto Northgate Road at the Argonne sign. Just before the entering the Main Gate, turn right and proceed to the Theory & Computer Science (TCS) Building #240.

From Chicago

Take I-55 South towards St. Louis. Take the exit South Cass Ave and make a right turn onto Northgate Road at the Argonne sign. Just before the entering the Main Gate, turn right and proceed to the Theory & Computer Science (TCS) Building #240.

Public Transportation

  • To reach Argonne by public transportation, take the Metra train to the Westmont Metra station. PACE bus #715 provides morning and evening connections between Westmont and Argonne. For details, please consult the PACE schedule.
  • A free shuttle bus makes round trips between Argonne National Laboratory and The University of Chicago.

Accommodations

Attendees and Exhibitors who need overnight accommodations can stay at the Argonne Guest House, located on the Argonne site within a two-minute drive from the TCS building.

The IEEE-Chicago Section has arranged for a block of rooms at a discounted rate of $70 plus tax.  Reservations at the Argonne Guest House may be made by calling the hotel directly at 630-739-6000 or 800-632-8990.  When making a reservation please ask for the "IEEE CHICAGO SECTION" rate.

The Cut-Off Date for room reservations is November 1, 2011. At the cut-off date, the Guest house will release the unreserved rooms for the general sale. Any reservation after the cut-off date will be accepted on a space basis and may not be eligible for the special discounted rate.

All guests staying at the Guesthouse Hotel will need a gate pass. Please read the details below on how to obtain a gate pass.

Parking

Attendee Parking  

Parking for all attendees is located next to the TCS building. IMMEDIATELY before entering the Main Gate, turn right and proceed to the Theory & Computer Science (TCS) Building # 240. Parking is adjacent to the TCS Building. Do not go to the main gate.

Exhibitor, Conference Volunteer and Hotel Guest Parking

Parking for Exhibitors, Conference volunteers, and those staying at the Argonne Guest House is located inside the main gate. Please read the details below on how to obtain a gate pass.

Obtaining a Gate Pass

US Citizens

For permission to access the main gate, U.S. citizens will need to notify Argonne’s Carmie White at least 3 days prior to the conference at 630-739-6000 or email her at cwhite@aps.anl.gov of your need to access the main gate.

Non-U. S. Citizens

For permission to access the main gate, Non-U.S. citizens will need to notify Carmie White at least 6 weeks prior to the conference at 630-739-6000 or email her at cwhite@aps.anl.gov of your need to access the main gate. Be sure to indicate to her that you are not a U.S citizen.

Main Gate Access

On your arrival at Argonne, just before entering the Main Gate, turn right and proceed to the visitor reception building to obtain your entry pass.  They will verify that you are on the permission list and will ask for a picture ID. Once you have your entry pass, proceed to the main gate.
