"My Other Computer is a Data Center – An Introduction to Cloud Computing"

We introduce cloud computing and discuss some of the different types of clouds.  We give an overview of the cloud computing industry.  We also discuss what is new technically and what is simply better marketing.  We end with some suggestions for your first cloud computing project.

About the Speaker:
Robert Grossman is the Managing Partner of Open Data Group, the Director of the Laboratory for Advanced Computing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Associate Senior Fellow at the Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology at the University of Chicago.  He is also the Director of the Open Cloud Consortium.  He has published over 150 papers in cloud computing, data intensive computing, and related areas.
