About the Topic
Okonite will present the many facets of power cable construction, including voltage categories of insulated conductors from instrumentation to underground transmission. The presentation will cover applicable industry standards, basic construction, qualification testing, routine factory testing, modern trends in cable coverings, field acceptance testing, and basic installation practices.
About the Speaker
James V. Fitzgerald is the Vice President of Applications Engineering for the Okonite Company. He received a B.S.E.E. from Manhattan College in the Bronx, New York. Jim has been in the cable industry for 36 years, and his responsibilities include product technical support, technical specification analysis, formal bid preparation, and maintenance of The Okonite Company's internal Product Specifications and field installation inspection and assistance. He is presently a member of IEEE/PES Society, Past Chair of the ICC Committee, a member of AREMA Committee 38 and a member of UL Technical Advisory Panel and past member of the NEC Code Panel 7.
