Abstract: A variety of electric machine designs have been introduced for electric vehicle application. Amongst all of them similar issues of insulation systems, compatibility, and reliability exist, especially for the harsh duties, energy densities and inverter applications. In this presentation, we will discuss the variety of insulation systems and considerations that exist, including a discussion of some of the new insulation materials that are being developed that will also impact the industrial community.
Bio: Howard W Penrose, Ph.D., CMRP is the Vice President of Dreisilker Electric Motors, Inc. and the owner of SUCCESS by DESIGN(r) publishing.
