About the IEEE Chicago Section Fund
The IEEE-Chicago Section has established a new IEEE Foundation fund entitled the IEEE-Chicago Section Fund. The purpose of this Fund is to address the major technological, educational, historical, and peer recognition concerns of the Chicago Section.

The IEEE-Chicago Section Fund will greatly expand outreach to pre-university students by providing prepared experiments, displays and workbooks for teachers and volunteers to use at schools, clubs, etc to demonstrate to students what an engineer does and how math and skills are used to benefit humanity . Additionally, the History Committee will seek to provide permanent local exhibition(s) of the accomplishments of Chicago area technology pioneers. Finally, the Student Activities Committee plans to support local college and university students through scholarships, fellowships and student grants.

This fund is financially managed by the IEEE Foundation, an organization qualified under U.S. Internal Revenue Code a 501©(3) and eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in the United States. The projects that receive financial support from establishment of this fund are determined locally by the Chicago Section.

The IEEE-Chicago Section Fund is administered by a Fund Committee headed by the Section vice Chair. The Vice Chair submits to the Chicago Section Executive Committee for approval: fund policies, project proposal procedures, and criteria for acceptance that are consistent with the policies of the IEEE Foundation. The Section vice Chair will also head the Grant selection Committee which will present recommendations for grant awards to the Executive Committee for approval. Disbursement of funds and financial reporting of fund status is the responsibility of the Chicago Section Treasurer.
